Green Farming Ltd are very conscious of the environment and have historically been committed members of the Higher-Level Countryside Stewardship Scheme. We are constantly looking for new conservation initiatives which will enhance the farm’s natural environment. Over the past few years, we have created 5 new areas of woodland, improved and maintained 4 ponds, and 2 scrapes. The scrapes being particularly important to wading birds with large numbers of them breeding, migrating and wintering in the area. In addition, we also grow numerous wild bird cover areas and pollen & nectar strips for bees. The Cleveland Way runs along the entire length of the eastern farm boundary and we are particularly proud to have established a 10-meter strip alongside this route to encourage natural flora and fauna in an area which can be enjoyed by the public.
